The eight owned stations reach 23.3% of all U.S. television households. All are strong performers in their local markets, with most ranking #1 sign-on to sign-off in key A.C. Nielsen ratings for adults 18-49 and 25-54.
ABC-owned stations are widely recognized for their longstanding commitment to local news. Political debates and other highly regarded public affairs programs also bring significant attention to important local issues, and community outreach projects prompt charitable support for worthy causes.
The popular syndicated series "Live! with Regis and Kelly" is produced by WABC-TV New York.
ABC owned stations are building upon the prominence of their broadcast channels with various new digital businesses. These range from local website, mobile and text offerings to customized iPad and iPhone applications.
Live Well Network, the Group's broadcast, online and wireless service for emerging digital channels in local markets, debuted in April 2009. Now available to local stations outside the Group, the high definition network offers 18 weekly half-hour shows that air 24 hours a day. Live Well Network's original programming, focusing on lifestyle topics such as health, cooking, travel and fashion, is largely produced at ABC owned stations.
Advertising Sales Representation
The Group's ABC National Television Sales (NTVS) serves as an advertising sales representative for the eight owned stations. In addition, ABC Regional Sports and Entertainment Sales, a unit of NTVS, represents regional sports networks, sports radio stations and out-of-home media. In New York City's Times Square, for example, ABC RSES handles the electronic billboards for Walgreens, American Eagle Outfitters and the Crowne Plaza Hotel, as well as the Company's own SuperSign and Disney Store.
